The Triumph Appreciation Meeting

August 2022

Not long after buying my Ford Popular in 2010, I met Andy Postlethwaite from Triumph Appreciation, a club for classic Triumph cars. We decided to stage a concourse night at the Cottage Loaf pub featuring all things Triumph and it became a popular annual event before lockdown intervened. We revived the event for 2022 at our pub, the Wheatsheaf, where we have our branch meetings and bike shows. The huge car park makes it the ideal location.

Triumph Appreciation had suffered a fall in membership so Andy decided to open the club to classic cars of any marque, but there were still plenty of Triumphs on show, along with (among others) a Frog-eyed Sprite, Mk 2 Zephyr and a Mini Clubman with a Ford lump shoehorned in! The car club judged David Malam’s T140V to be best bike and we judged a TR6 belonging to Peter Moorhouse the best car.
